About Us
At Minority Doctors Forum South Africa we have identified a need to provide extra support to previously disadvantaged groups in South Africa. This includes doctors, medical students and registrars in Medicine, not only that but we aim to influence change that brings about equity and subsequently equality in our health system. In addition, we aim to conscientize fellow colleagues and leaders in position of power within Medicine and educational institutions on the urgent need for transformation, positive behaviour change and creation of an inclusive and amicable environment for all professionals, students and trainees to thrive and enjoy equally.
Minority Doctors Forum South Africa is a vessel for change and transformation created not only to nurture universal excellence but also empower previously disadvantaged professionals in Medicine to thrive and achieve the greatest level of academic, entrepreneurship and innovative achievements through early Mentorship and guidance.
We currently offer free online Mentorship programmes for all Doctors, registrars and medical students regardless of gender or race in South Africa. We link mentors with mentees in all specialities on the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa and non-clinical medicine careers.

We aim to educate and conscientize Africans on the current struggles of previously disadvantaged groups, while finding solutions to a more unified Africa.
✔ We run programmes that prepare and guide future African scientists that will be socially and economically conscious.
✔ We groom leaders who proactively pursue solutions to problems in our health care system and our country.
✔ We support black consciousness, joint success, unity, information sharing and positive transformative decolonised environment that encourages the African spirit of Ubuntu (humanity/kindness) in Medicine.
We Provide Qualified Help In
Through our mentorship programmes, we provide all rounded support inclusive of all eight dimensions of wellness (promoting emotional, physical, occupational, social, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and financial wellbeing for all).
We provide encouragement and easy access to information that will enable you to thrive at any stage of your Medicine career by actively eliminating existing socioeconomic and psychological barriers in Medicine.
Our mentorship programme is mentees led and guided. We structure and coordinate the mentor-mentees interactions.
This forum is informative, fosters unity and aims for equal collective success of all in Medicine.
Through our Mentorship programme we aim to increase the number, appeal and retention of current minority group specialists, academics and scientists in South Africa.
